And so we come at last to the end of an Ibun arc! I'll have another three endings in the coming weeks, but this weekend was crazy enough that I opted to just translate one of the Tasuki finales. Bandit bliss below the jump! Enjoy~!
Final Chapter
==Scene: Bedchamber, at night==
Two weeks had passed since the battle.
About half the Konan soldiers remained to rebuild the villages and cities that had been raided by Kutou.
The battle was over, and everyone was beginning to walk their respective paths.
Time kept on flowing forward.
For all my friends, and... for me, too...
There was still one thing I had to decide.

But even so, I still hadn’t settled on what to do...

Maybe I’ll make up my mind if I talk to Tasuki.
With that thought, I headed to his room.
But...
==Scene: Bedchamber, at night==
{Chichiri appears}
You: Chichiri... where’s Tasuki?
Chichiri: He headed out just a little while ago no da. Looks like he’s going back to Mount Reikaku.
You: Wh-why... would he...?
Chichiri: I didn’t ask for a reason no da.
Tasuki’s leaving me—
You: ...I guess he doesn’t like me...
Chichiri: You don’t need to worry about that no da. I’m sure that isn’t it.
Chichiri: Tasuki really cared about you.
You: Then... why?
Chichiri: You should ask him that no da.
You: ...Um.
You: I wonder if I could still catch him.
Chichiri: If you want, I’m always happy to lend a hand no da.
I didn’t hesitate. I got the feeling that, if I didn’t go to him now, then we’d never be able to meet again.
As soon as I took Chichiri’s hand—

I was in a place I’d never seen before.
You: ...Thanks. Chichiri...
*footsteps*
—When I turned around to face the footsteps, I saw—

Tasuki: ...What’re... you...?
You: ...Chichiri brought me here.
Tasuki: ...How were ya plannin’ ta get back?
You: I’d have you... come with me.
Tasuki: Ya think… ya can just waltz up to me an’...
You: If not, then I’ll go with you.
Tasuki: Huh!? To become a bandit?!
You: …It’s got nothing to do with that...
You: Why... did you try to leave me behind?
Tasuki: ...It’s got... nothin’ t’do with you.
You: It does...
You: Why... did you try to leave?
Tasuki: ...Dummy. Yer goin’ back ta yer world tomorrow.
Tasuki: An’ nothin’ I say is gonna change that.
Tasuki: I did this on purpose! I couldn’t stand ta watch ya leave!
Tasuki: I figured I... could handle it if I was far enough away from ya...
You: Tasuki... Let’s go back together. And let’s be together... tomorrow, too.
Tasuki: Th-the hell’s wrong with you? Clean out yer ears an’ listen t’me, will ya!?
You: I heard you just fine.
He’s been thinking this seriously about my happiness.
That made me so happy. I grabbed Tasuki in an embrace.
Tasuki: Why’re you… suddenly so…?
You: We’ll be together tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and forever and ever...
You: Let me stay with you.
You: I love you, Tasuki.
…..
Tasuki: ...Yeah. I love you, too.
Tasuki: If you told me to, I’d give up my own world fer ya.
Tasuki: Fer the rest of my life, I’m gonna make ya the happiest woman in the world.
You: ...Mm. I hope so.

The next day, Misaki-chan gave Tasuki and me her blessing and went back to our world.
And then—I made my last wish to Suzaku, asking that Tasuki and I could stay together in this world.
How would the story we’d spun be depicted in The Universe of the Four Gods...?
I was sort of curious, but there was no way for me to know for sure.
But... after the story of the Priestess of Suzaku ended, my own life went on.

A few years later—

Tasuki and I were hard at work living as bandits.
But the bandit lifestyle had changed a little—
You: Is everyone ready to go?
Tasuki: Yup! They’re standin’ by outside!
You: What did the chief of Hakko Village say he needed?
Tasuki: Looks like there’s a nasty gang-a thieves that’ve settled inta the neighborhood an’ are causin’ trouble.
Tasuki: That’s Tamahome’s hometown. We’ll make mincemeat outta those thieves.
You: Tasuki? Accept just a tiny bit of the treasure those thieves stole, okay?
Tasuki: Sure, I gotcha. An’ we return the rest to its owners, yeah?
Tasuki: I’d do anything ta make sure th’ bandit family business can hold its head high. (1)
You: ‘Kay. I’m glad you understand.
Bandit: Boss Man! Boss Lady of Suzaku!! Everyone’s all ready t’go!! (2)
You: Be right there.
We got ready to go and headed out of the cave—

Tasuki: Thanks fer waitin’, gang!
Tasuki: Our enemies have got skill this time! Ya’ll better be fired up!!
Bandits: H’OHHHHH!!
Tasuki: Anyhow, we got Suzaku’s divine protection on our side!
Tasuki: As long as this gal loves me, I’m invincible!
Tasuki: And that means the bandits-a Mount Reikaku are indestructible, too!
You: ...T-Tasuki. You embarrass me every time you do that.
Tasuki: Don’t be. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with tellin’ the truth.
Tasuki squeezed me tightly to his side.
Tasuki: You say somethin’, too.
You: Mm, right.
You: Guys! Get out there, win, and take back that treasure!
You: Let’s raise hell until morning again!!
Bandits: H’OHHHHH!!
==Scene: Sky==
That’s generally how we spent our wild days, but—
It really was a lot of fun.
Tasuki: Now leeeet’s go!!
You: Awaaaay we go!
The sky was blue as far as the eye could see. I was confident that we would win today.

Translation Notes:
(1) Tasuki uses the expression 大手を振る (oote wo furu), which literally refers to swinging your arms wide, but has the meaning of being brazen or bold. The whole sentence translated awkwardly so I took a stab at an English expression that was both a body movement and an emotion of boldness or pride, but I feel like the connotation is pretty different. I’m open to alternate translations.
(2) “Boss Lady of Suzaku” - Original Japanese was “Suzaku no Ane-san,” where “ane-san” is usually what you’d call a yakuza boss’s wife. I had fun translating that.
